Watch FoodProFuture’s Erik Svanes present results at leading international conference on sustainability of food systems

Last week, the International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment of Food (LCAFOOD 2020) was being held for the 12 time. LCAFOOD is the leading conference series on sustainability of food systems worldwide. Due to the pandemic, this year’s conference was digital.

One of the presenters was Erik Svanes, a senior research scientist at NORSUS (formerly Østfoldforskning). Mr Svanes leads WP1 in FoodProFuture and gave a presentation on his work with LCA in FoodProFuture on 15 October. The topic of his talk was:

  • The environmental impact of introducing food products based on field beans, peas and oilseeds (rapeseed and turnip rapeseed) grown in Norway, replacing parts of the protein food we now eat, which is 75% animal based.
